Ken Robinson: “I’m a fan of homeschooling”

This week I will be finishing my long-promised review of Dr. Joy Lawson Davis’s new book, Bright, Talented & Black, for Friday’s post. In the meantime, a good follow-up to last Friday’s thoughts on homeschooling is this video Q&A from Ken Robinson, whose TED Talks about how schools kill creativity and bringing on a learning revolution are must-sees for any parent, educator, or anyone interested in the growth and health of young people.

Thanks to Gifted Homeschoolers Forum and Hoagies Gifted Education Page, whose link to the video I found on Facebook.

If you’re as big a Ken Robinson fan as I am (be sure to read—or listen to him read the audio version of—his newest book, The Element), and especially if you are a visual learner,  you’ll also enjoy this RSA Animate version of Robinson’s thoughts on changing education paradigms:

I just absolutely love this, Lisa. We’re wrestling with choices now as our oldest nears “school age” but is not quite near enough. What to do? We’re looking for answers.

    • Lisa says:

Thanks, Victoria. :) I remember those decision-making days during our son’s grade school years. It isn’t easy, but remember that whatever you decide to do, the fact that your children have the parents they have is what matters most. Truly.
      Hugs,
      Lisa
